Explore Transportation Options

There are many ways to get around and beyond campus. Whether you are a seasoned bike commuter or a brand new student who is car-free, Transportation Services is here to help. We have a wealth of information on transportation options such as walking, biking, transit, shuttles, carpool, ride-hailing, and more.

Walk & Roll

Walking and rolling is by far the most common way that students and employees get around campus. Build some beneficial movement into your day by walking to class, meetings, lunch, and activities.

Bus

Lane Transit District (LTD) operates more than two dozen bus routes in Lane County, all of which are included in the UO bus pass. For trip planning, detailed routes and resources, visit LTD's website.

EmX Eugene

The Emerald Express (EmX) is LTD's bus rapid transit system. Spacious, comfortable buses coming every ten to fifteen minutes during the week make it easier than ever to take the bus. Running on Franklin Blvd by the university, the EmX is a useful route to get between campus destinations, as well as off campus offices like PeaceHealth North, the Baker Center and 10th & Mill.

Park and Ride

LTD maintains many Park and Ride locations around Lane County. A Park and Ride allows you to leave your vehicle in a safe, clean lot and ride the bus the rest of the way to work. LTD Park and Rides are free on a first come, first served basis.

Duck Rides

Duck Rides provides free, late night transportation from 6pm–12am to all university students and employees. Rides can be scheduled in from the app linked below.

Car

Most students living on campus do not bring a personal car and use other forms of transportation to get around. Sometimes, though, you need a car. Consider using car share or ride-hailing as needed. For employees and students who choose to commute by car, use carpool, vanpool, or LTD Park and Ride to save money.

Carpool and Vanpool Programs - Convenient cost sharing and ride matching.

Car Share - Hourly and daily car rental options located on campus. UO students as young as 18 are eligible.

Ride Hail - Uber and Lyft are available in Eugene and Springfield. Learn about campus rules for ride-hailing companies.
