Emergency Ride Home

In partnership with Lane Transit District, the University of Oregon offers an Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program. This program provides up to four free taxi rides a calendar year to your home or to a park and ride in the event of a qualifying emergency.

How to Request an Emergency Ride Home:

  • Make sure you are registered with Get There and have joined the UO Faculty & Staff network
  • Log in to Get There
  • Choose Programs>Rewards
  • Choose the Emergency Ride Home Program (ERH) Details and Inventory
  • Redeem your ERH Voucher using your points
  • Follow the instructions and print the voucher
  • Call one of the participating taxi providers on the voucher

 Eligibility:

  • Faculty and Staff
    • Student employees and Graduate employees are not eligible for the program
  • Employee must have used one of the following transportation options to travel to work: 
    • Bus
    • Bike
    • walk
    • Carpool
    • Vanpool
    • Other active mode (e.g. skateboard)

Qualified emergencies:

  • Personal or family illness or emergency
  • Carpool/vanpool ride is unavailable due to driver illness or emergence
  • Unscheduled overtime

Non-Qualifying emergencies:

  • Planned overtime, personal errands, or scheduled appointments
  • Business related travel
  • Natural disasters, such as earthquake or flood
